How to Apply to Graduate School

The Graduate Admissions office administers the application, admission, and readmission process for all degree-seeking and non-degree seeking graduate students. We are happy to help guide you through the graduate application process.

Beginning August 17, 2020, the Graduate School office in Building 11 will be open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. A face covering is required to enter the office and we will practice social distancing.

While the office will be open with limited staff, remote work continues to be the primary work arrangement for faculty and staff. Please contact us via email at During this time, we ask all required admission documents be uploaded to your Applications Status in MyUWF or emailed to If you mailed in a hard copy of any items, mail will be impacted during this time. For domestic applicants, you may submit an unofficial copy of transcripts, and we will be able to accept those for Provisional Admission, but an official copy of every transcript must be received prior to the first semester of enrollment.

GRE/GMAT/MAT scores are being waived by many colleges/programs for the coming terms due to COVID-19. You can check the Graduate Admission Test Scores section to see if you may qualify.

Incomplete applications will not be considered for admission or may be denied admission.

Decision Notification

The Graduate School will notify the applicants of the admission decision.  Admission to the University is often contingent upon the subsequent receipt of satisfactory and official college or university transcripts and verification of baccalaureate degree.  Failure to submit such documents before the end of the second week of class of the initial semester of enrollment may result in the cancellation of admission.
