The Journalism specialization prepares students for responsibilities in contemporary news media with roles ranging from reporter to columnist. Students will learn to gather, write and edit information for diverse news outlets.

Concentration Description 

The world of journalism is undergoing fundamental changes, but the need to communicate clearly and concisely has never been greater. Students taking journalism courses concentrate first and foremost on the development of their writing skills. Students prepare themselves for traditional positions such as newspaper reporter or editor as well as the many opportunities in the world of new media.

Students have the opportunity to work for the student newspaper, The Voyager, as they progress through the program.
